The ceiling plate (10) has sliding elements (12-15) sliding in guides fixed to the vehicle roof. Additional reinforcement is assigned to the sliding elements. The reinforcements run above the ceiling plate. Bands (18), catching hooks or reinforcement strips are formed independently from the reinforcement and the sliding elements and engage guides fixed to the roof. Preferably the bands, catching hooks or reinforcement strips are fixed on both sides to a longitudinal slide rod (20,21), which engages the guides.
