Multiple gear changing gearbox for operation under load, has fixed gear coaxial with input shaft, together with fixed and adjustable gears associated with transmission shafts. The changeable speed gear box is such that the fixed gears (21-23) of the driven gear set (20) consist of two fixed gears (21,22), which are arranged on a transmission gear shaft (26). A fixed gear (23) is arranged co-axially to the input shaft (3). In addition the driven shaft (28) is in continuous engagement with a fixed gear (22) on the transmission shaft (26) of the driven gearwheel set (20). The adjustable gears (4,6) of the drive gear set (1) consist of two loose gears which are in continuous engagement with the fixed gear (2) of the drive gear set .
