The size reduction machine has two motorized parallel shafts(3,4) located in the bottom area of a feed funnel(46). Tool carriers are fastened on both sides of the shafts inside the feed funnel in the region of the plane embraced by the shaft axes, and clearing and tearing prongs enter the spaces between the tool carriers. The side comminution zones are formed by the tool carriers and clearing and tearing prongs, and for this the main direction of rotation of the shafts is selected in the direction of the feed funnel. An Independent claim is included for a use for the machine which is breaking down agricultural foil with adhesions of organic material.
