The method for sustaining vitality of organs, extremities and tissues involves combined use of perfusion and dialysate circuits in such a way that the pressure difference between them is varied in an essentially periodic manner so that excess pressure and partial vacuum alternate between these circuits. An Independent claim is included for an apparatus for implementation of the proposed method. It comprises two pumps (5a, 5b) whose periodically varying delivery rates are governed by a control unit (8).
