Mains-commutated converters are used for the control and no common DC intermediate circuit is present. The converter contains no energy store and the current in the machine windings (1-6A,B) flows in only one direction. The motor is designed as a switched reluctance motor and is connected via converters with the AC network. The feeding converters are mains-commutated fully controllable converters with a current device. Each pole pair possesses its own converter. For the increase of power and the flexible design, each pole of the machine is connected to its own converter.
