The device moves the valve element from a position blocking a passage between primary and secondary connections to a position in which the passage is at least partly open. The pressure of a pressure medium is regulated by a regulating valve before the actuating element and is detected and fed to a control/evaluation device with the detected pressure at the output of the secondary connection to enable the valve control signal to be produced. The device moves the valve element (5) from a rest position blocking a passage between primary and secondary connections (2,3) to a working position in which the passage is at least partly open. The deflection of an actuating element (31) caused by the pressure of a pressure medium is transferred to the valve element. The pressure of the pressure medium is regulated by a regulating valve (37) before the actuating element and is detected and fed to a control/evaluation device (50) with the detected pressure at the output of the secondary connection (3) to enable the valve control signal (S) to be produced.
