摘要

The shock wave source comprises an excitation coil and deflectable membrane to impart a pressure pulse on a propagation medium. An elastically compressible interlayer(6) is located between the membrane(5) and propagation medium(8). The interlayer consists of a fibrous material with the fibers orientated perpendicularly to the direction of movement of the membrane. The interlayer may consist of a homogenous material interspersed by cavities.
