Method for detecting abnormal dryness of skin, useful for diagnosing diabetic foot syndrome, based on color change in plaster containing cobalt chloride

Method for determining abnormal dryness of the skin is new. A carrier (2), especially of textile material, is impregnated with a 3.15-25% solution of cobalt(II) chloride (I) and dried until (I) is blue. (2) is fixed to a flat support (1) of flexible material, then covered with a protective material (3), impermeable to air and moisture. Immediately before use, (3) is removed and (2) attached to a region of skin for a predetermined time. Development of a red color from (I) indicates a normal skin dryness. An Independent claim is also included for (2), attached to (1) and covered by (3).
