The device has a fist group of tracks containing a modulated track (WG) and a non-modulated track (NWG), each in the form of a trench or plateau. Modulated tracks have both sides meander-shaped and non-modulated tracks have no meander-shaped sides. A second group of tracks between the tracks of the first group are used to record information. If the first track is a trench the second is a plateau and vice-versa. A source directs a beam onto a special track. A beam reflected from the track is detected by a reflected beam detector and a controller controls the source to follow a modulated track adjacent to the special track. Independent claims are also included for an arrangement optical disk recording and/or reproduction method and for a track following method.
