The disc brake has a brake caliper with at least one brake piston and inner and outer brake blocks, only the inner with a lining wear sensor in a lining aperture. The sensor cable leaves the sensor body in the direction of the longitudinal centerline. The sensor is fixed in a back plate opening with a transverse shape-locking fit, consists of a non-elastic material and is held in the back plate aperture in the insertion direction by an adapter. The disc brake has a brake caliper that engages a brake disc (3) from inside to out and at least one brake piston on the inside and inner and outer brake blocks (4,4'), only the inner of which has an associated lining wear sensor (1) in an aperture in its lining (4a). The sensor electric cable leaves the sensor body in the direction of the vehicle's longitudinal centerline. The sensor is fixed in an opening of the back plate (4b) with a transverse shape-locking fit. The sensor consists of a non-elastic material and is held in the aperture of the back plate in the insertion direction (12) by an adapter. An independent claim is also included for a brake lining wear sensor.
