Along the central axis of the converter (8) is fitted a thermal profile sensor enclosed in a sleeve with high thermal conductivity. The core of the sensor is a wire spiral to which are attached at intervals along its length thermoelectric wires (4). The wires are connected to an evaluator (7) to obtain a thermal profile (9) along the body (13) of the converter.
