The procedure for partial application of high viscosity fluids to a base material(9) entails using a nozzle with a geometry which is such that at the mouth of the nozzle's discharge gap(12) which directs the fluid to a cylindrical drum-type screen(3) a pressure increase takes place so that the pressure in the fluid at the mouth of the discharge gap is higher than the pressure in the fluid in the discharge gap itself.
