Dermatological hand glass comprises a hand piece with an illumination unit (4) for the area of skin under examination and a lens (5). The illumination unit is fixed to the hand-piece and the lens can be exchanged to vary the size of the skin region to be examined. The light unit comprises an array of white light LEDs with a homogeneity of more than 90 %.
