The method for fusion of cylinder liners (1) in cylinders (6) of a crankcase (2) of an internal combustion engine involves cast material introduced in the web area (3) between two cylinder liners. In the area of at least one face side (4) of two adjacent cylinder liners casting aids such as web bridges (5) are cast and then finally further removed. The cylinder liners in an axial direction starting from their face side are fused on a length of at least ten per cent of their internal diameter. One or more casting aids are provided on the face side over the periphery of the cylinder liner.
