The engine (10) has main combustion (12) and pre-combustion (13) chambers, which are separated by a flame connection passage (14). A gaseous fuel (20) is connected to the upstream end (17) of a fuel supply passage (15). A reflux valve (30) is positioned between the fuel supply passage and the pre-combustion chamber and has a valve body and a valve element to connect them, when the valve is open and isolate them when the valve is closed. An Independent claim is included for an isolation reflux valve for incorporation in the engine.
