The heating water circuit control method has a valve device (16), controlled in dependence on the measured water temperature and temperature characteristic at the valve device, for circulating the heating water through an auxiliary heating device (12) infront of the heat exchanger (10) used for providing warm air for the passenger compartment, with the engine bypassed, or for connecting the heat exchanger in series with the engine. An Independent claim for a control device for an automobile heating water circuit is also included.
