The method involves receiving a signal contg. a wanted and an unwanted component, determining a spectral power density approximation for the received signal, separating an error component from the spectral approximation and determining the wanted component from the error component. The spectral power density approximation is determined using an adaptive autoregression modelling technique. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for distinguishing between wanted and unwanted components of a signal.
