A vehicle, with a four wheel drive for temporary use, operated with a transfer gear comprising a fast running two wheel drive mode, a fast running four wheel drive mode and a slow running four wheel drive mode is equipped with a new design of a transfer gear box. All components are arranged in order to facilitate the operation of the different modes with a single gear lever (41), transmission lever (42) respectively. The transmission lever (42) is provided with a two wheel/four wheel fork (44), joined to the two wheel/four wheel sleeve (34) of the front wheel drive (30) and with a fast/slow fork (45), joined to the fast/slow sleeve (27).
