the telescopic boom comprises a main jib arm with base box and several extending telescopic arms with profiled shells of which at least one is made from profiled sheet metal (1) and has in the transverse and/or in the longitudinal direction a varying nominal wall thickness which is adapted to the load. The internal hollow dimensions of the telescopic arm made therefrom is constant over the length. The lower shell can be U-shaped and the apex area can be formed as a horizontal web.
