The storage tank has a storage container (18) with a cold water tapping (4) at the lowest point connected via a heat source (6) and circulation pump (5) to a hot water feed in the highest region of the container (18) and a consumable water line (3) connected to the highest region of the container. There is a temp. sensor (12) in the middle region of the container and at least one other temp. sensor (11) for detecting the temp. of the consumable water, of which the sensor in the middle region is connected to a controller (10) influencing the heat source and the circulation pump. The temp. sensor for detecting the temp. of the consumable water is arranged in the hot water feed (8). An Independent claim is also included for a method of loading a later storage device.
