The transformer has a first core (11) with a coil insert section with an open side, coils (15,12) inserted in a defined sequence and electrically insulated from each other, a second core (16) coupled to the first core to cover the open side of the coil insert section and a molded section for covering the whole surface of the coils. An Independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a transformer.
