Door assembly has outer skin (20) to take up pressure loads. Outer skin of door is offset radially inwards towards interior of fuselage, in relation to radial surface contour (5) of fuselage. At least the offset surface of outer skin is covered by planking (21). Door carrier framework (30) is between outer skin and planking, and is bonded at least to outer skin. Planking is fitted into contour of edge (201) of outer skin.
