The joint (100) for fluid or steam pipes comprises a protruding element (104) at the end of a first pipe, a hollow element (106) at the end of a second pipe for accommodation of the protruding element (104), and a thin polymer coating (102) with an adhesive layer fixing this coating to the protruding element (104). The coating does not adhere to the hollow element (106) during formation the joint with use of a clamping ring (108).
