Freed switchpoint (10) sleepers (8) are shifted or turned relative the loading platform (6) by means of a shifter respectively mounted in each case on the platform end (6,15). The shifter (13) has its own drive (14) and is fitted out with sleeper holders on both sides of the sleeper long sides (16) and one sleeper endface (17). One end of the holder supporting frame is connected in turn to the preferably chain drive (14). Thus each long end (15) of the platform (6) has its pair of shifters (13) spaced out over the car length. Switchpoint sleepers and rails (9) mounted on the platform (6) are swung round axis (12) in the car length and so into transport position. Once in this position the sleepers projecting beyond tare length are turned to lie parallel to the platform to bring the entire switchpoint elements within unobstructive dimensions. The sleepers are fixed to the loading platform in this position.
