The camera (10) has a reception compartment (14) for a film cartridge (16) and a drive for transporting a thermic film (18) to and from the film cartridge via an exposure station and a heating device (22) for development of the film, with regulation of the film transport rate and the temperature of the heating device. An optical device can be used for writing information on the film and/or a magnetic read/write device is used for recording information on the film or reading recorded information. An Independent claim for a photographic imaging method is also included.
