Catalytic converter for removing nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons from internal combustion engine exhaust gas consists of heat-resistant substrate with catalytic coating made of zirconium oxide cerium complex oxides
Catalytic converter consists of a heat-resistant substrate with a catalytic coating made of a zirconium oxide complex (I) on which platinum and rhodium are applied and a cerium complex oxide (II) on which platinum and rhodium are applied. Catalytic converter consists of a heat-resistant substrate with a catalytic coating made of a zirconium oxide complex Zr1-(a+b)CeaN'bO2-c of formula (I) on which platinum and rhodium are applied and a cerium complex oxide of formula Ce1-(x+y)ZrxMyO2-z (II) on which platinum and rhodium are applied. The zirconium oxide complex oxide has the formula: N', M : alkaline earth metal or rare earth metal different from Ce and Zr; a : 0.1 to 0.35; b : 0 to 0.2; c, z : degree of oxygen deficiency determined by the valency and the ratio of the element; x : 0.2 to 0.65; y : 0 to 0.2.
