The foam rubber pillow (10) is made as an elastic and compressible body with rows of parallel positioned ribs (12) protruding from its surface. The valleys (34) between the ribs are pointed towards the bottom and the crests are designed in a flat shape (32). The weight of the head and neck of the user compresses the ribs, which are bent in a way creating a pulling force (16) acting on head and neck of the user. Stress and strains are relieved. Various combinations of rib shape and density of the material are available, in order to suit the individual needs.
