The method involves defining a scanning path containing the region of interest or ROI, using a source fixed with respect to a detector, both movable relative to the object, detecting conical beam projection data in each source position, masking each set of data to form masked data sets, computing image data along line segments in the masked data with convolving operations to form a new image and 3D back projection of the new image in a 3D space.
