The method involves superimposing one image on the other in real time using an arrangement for aligning a source of x-ray energy from a point in space through an object of interest onto a detector plane to produce an x-ray image on the detector plane and a device for obtaining an optical image of the object from an equivalent optical point in space. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for directing an x-ray source through an object on a detector plane and a method and arrangement for positioning an optical camera with respect to an x-ray source.
