An identification unit (40) has an identification controller (43) that receives the password from an identification area buffer (34) and collates the received password with the password data in an identification table (44) in order to determine the validity of the received password. The controller is provided within a system controller (42). The system controller receives the normal data from a keyboard buffer area (33), and subsequently passes the normal data flow to a central processing unit (41). The keyboard buffer area is used to buffering the normal data flow. The identification buffer area is used to buffer the password. An Independent claim is also included for a password identification method.
