The holding frame(3) for a foot mat is assembled from individual sections at site. The frame consists of corner pieces(4) and long pieces(5), the latter being cut to the required lengths at site. A protruding tongue is provided on each corner piece for fitting into a corresponding socket in the long piece. Each long piece is separated from an extruded section and has an angled horizontal projection. Each long piece has longitudinally open undercut slots on the outer side into which anchoring elements fit and form lock.
