A sensor region (20) outputs a sensor signal depending on the physical value. A controller (10) is connected to the sensor region via the external wirings (LP,LO) to supply energy to the sensor region and to receive the sensor signal from the sensor region. A diagnosis area (13) measures the current which flows in one (LO) of the external wirings and processes the measured current to detect the resistance and fault of a circuit system.
