A measuring instrument (5) configured to measure 0-10 V is activated after which pressure sensors (S1,S2) respectively detect pressure in pneumatic damping circuits (2,3) and output currents (I1,I2) of range 4-20 mA. Total output current is passed through shunt. Voltage drop across shunt is measured and is converted into axle load value by refering stored vehicle characteristics and is displayed. An Independent claim is also included for axle load measurement device in air suspended vehicles.
