In an electrophotographic photoconductor, comprising a conductive base with a light-sensitive coating containing phthalocyanine compound(s) (I) as photosensitive material, the coating contains 100 nmole to 200 mmole metal phthalocyanine compound (II) with an o-phthalonitrile compound as ligand per mole (I). An Independent claim is also included for the production of an electrophotographic photoconductor by giving a conductive base a photosensitive coating by coating with a liquid containing a charge generating substance, in which the liquid contains (I) and 100 nmole to 200 mmole (II)/mole (I).
