An electric motor with a measuring sensor for detecting the rotational position of the rotor, is sensitive to any stray magnetic flux from the motor and includes a magnetic screening feature in order to prevent the magnetic flux entering the measurement sensor. The motor includes a screening element in order to screen the stray magnetic flux emanating from the stator windings to the measurement sensor, and it is mounted on the stator core, and the screening element is specifically arranged so that it encloses the stator windings. The measurement sensor includes a magnetic sensor and is arranged within the vicinity of the outer periphery of the stator windings, in their radial direction and detects the rotational position of the rotor specifically by a verification (test) sensor, which extends as a single piece, from the rotor in the radial direction to its outer periphery.
