The invention concerns a mobile partition for separating classes in a passenger compartment such as in an airliner, comprising: means for locking the partition device in a selected lateral fixing plate when translating the device along a guide rail arranged longitudinally in the passenger compartment and unlocking in before said translation; means for connecting at least a first connecting member integral with a mobile support mounted on a longitudinal rail integral with the compartment and to a second connecting member integral with said lateral fixing plate; means for operating said locking and connecting means, during the translation manoeuvres; means for preventing said operating means form being actuated as long as at least said first connecting member is not in a specific connecting position with the second connecting member integral with said lateral fixing plate. The invention is applicable to passenger transport.
