The device (103) holds a stack of printed sheets, so that a new sheet can be added to the top. The device has two symmetrical paper-holding mechanisms, which each secure one edge of the stack. The mechanism has a cylindrical guide pin fixed to a frame (104) of a paper handling device (102). A cam fixed to the frame has a groove pad, which lies in one or more planes perpendicular to the axis of the guide pin. An arm fits in a slit, which engages the guide pin and moves about the guide pin in one plane. A foot is fixed to the lower end of the arm and engages an upper edge of the stack. A cam follower is fixed to a central section of the arm and engages the cam pad.
