The profile seal of an elastic material, to fill a gap e.g. between a window pane and a window frame, has a V-shaped cut-in (25) at the junction zone between the outer sealing lip (7) and the web (9) at the opposite end of the seal to the foot section. The cut-in allows the outer sealing lip (7) to swing upwards. The web section (9) towards the laying shoulder, to grip over it at the frame, has a section (11) parallel to the pane which is of a harder material than the inner sealing lip (8). The seal is of an elastomer, thermoplastic or mixed elastomer/thermoplastic material.
