Front end bumper (44) extends crossways from its securements (10) on the longitudinal member and is joined to the remaining part of the front end by a frame structure (17). The metal part (7) of the front end also forms the metal side part of the bumper (44) and is joined to the front end part of the frame structure (17) as molded onto the metal. Impact energy is absorbed by plastically formed structures (22) arranged in front end mounting (19) between the bumper securements (10). The mountings (19) are arranged in arms (18) which lie lengthways between the bumper and the front end sides (2) as fitted releasably to the front end center part (4). The bumper comprises center part (42) and two side sections (7) releasably joined to the center part of the bumper (42,44).
