Antenna diversity - receiving equipment for the elimination of reception disturbances during the mobile reception of television signals

The reception system consists of two aerials, a TV receiver and monitor, and a diversity processor with an aerial switching unit. The latter is supplied with the aerial signals, and is coupled to the TV receiver and a control circuit with a comparator for testing the fed signals for their quality during a blanking period. Independence on the test result, the comparator actuates, via the control circuit, the switching unit to change-over to a better aerial signal. The TV signal testing takes place during the horizontal blanking period. The change-over to a better aerial signal takes place during the horizontal period duration. USE/ADVANTAGE - For car TV receiver, with suppression of interference both in parked and driven car.
