New pyrid-2-yl-pyrimidine cpds. (I) are of the formula (I). In (I) Q1 and Q2 independently are CO or CH2; n and m are 0 or 1; R1 and R2 independently are 1-18C alk(en)yl, opt. substd. by CN or halogen(s), in which one or more CH2 gps. may be replaced by -O-, -CO-O- or -O-CO- without 2 adjacent O atoms; and if n or m are 1, R1 or R2 may also = a gp. of formula (II). In (II) R3 is 1-18 alk(en)yl or alkoxy, opt. substd. by CN or halogen(s); r is 1-4; o is 1 or 2. - (I) can be prepd. by standard methods, e.g. as described in Houben-Weyl, Methoden der Organischen Chemie, Georg-Thieme-Verlag, Stuttgart.
