Appts. for measuring the concn. of a liq. in a container, which changes with time, e.g. a fermenting wort in the prodn. of beer, comprises a container wall (5) ultrasound sensor (1), which acts as a sender and receiver and which has an adjustable transmitting frequency, and a temp. probe (4). Control signals are sent to the ultrasound sensor in order to produce an oscillation profile via an ultrasound control and transducer unit (2). The signals received by the sensor are passed to the transducer unit. The transducer unit has an associated evaluation device (3) which establishes the concn. The ultrasound sensor pref. has a piezo electric crystal oscillator.
