The propeller has hollow blades (1) with channels (4) enabling the ejection of an ultra-light gas, e.g. helium. The gas flows through orifices (3) near the ends of the blades and directed towards the leading edge. The channel is connected to a distribution channel (6) in the hub (2) by a rotating seal (5). The hub chamber (7) distributing the gas is supplied through a channel (8) in the shaft carrying the propeller.
