The invention relates to a method for the production of copolymers of cyclodextrin and/or cyclodextrin derivatives, characterised by the following operations: preparation in a solid state of a mixture of cyclodextrin and/or cyclodextrin derivative(s) and/or inclusion complex(es) of cyclodextrin and/or cyclodextrin derivatives and/or a polycarboxylic acid anhydride or a mixture of polycarboxylic acids and/or polycarboxylic acid anhydrides and optionally a catalyst; heating of said solid mixture to a temperature of between 100 DEG C-200 DEG C during a period of 1-60 minutes, preferably a period that is substantially the same as or equal to 30 mins. The invention also relates to soluble and insoluble copolymers of cyclodetrin or cylcodextrin derivatives or the inclusion complexes thereof and at least one polycarboxylic acid.
