The lock consists of a slotted bush (1) with an inner surface projection (12) and chamfered edges (18) to its slot (13) which slides over the truncated cylindrical head (2) of a pedicular screw (8), laminar hook or other bone fixing. The head has a groove (9) at the bottom to increase its flexibility and inner surface projections (5, 6) to grip a spinal rod (7) when the bush is slid over it. The head and bush have interacting surfaces shaped to compress the head as the bush is pushed into place. The assembly is made from a biocompatible metal with enhanced elasticity.
