The hybrid vehicle drive transmission (12) with a clutch (20) for the vehicle drive wheels assembly (24) has a battery (28) of accumulators. The battery electronic recharger control module (30) gives deceleration through disengagement of the clutch (20). The electric drive (18) then functions as a generator braking the assembly (24). Sensors (34,36) for the accelerator and brake pedal positions facilitate control of the IC engine (22), the clutch, the drive and the brakes (32).
