A security product has a thin film for adhering to an object being protected and security marking(s) printed onto a hard layer enclosing an ink having a pigment and a binder. The binder includes an agent soluble in polar and/or non-polar solvents at normal temperature and pressure. Independent claims are included for the following: (a) A object includes a security product as above adhered to it. (b) Protecting an object using a security product as above. The layer is printed on after drying in air. In use the film is attached to the object so the layer lies between them. (c) Manufacturing a security product as above Preferred Features: The film is a monolayer with adhesive for attaching to the object. The agent has a molecular weight = 5000. The product may be a stack of the films each carrying a security marking layer. The pigment may be visible or it may be invisible unless irradiated with invisible light
