The ploughing machine consists of a chassis (1), towed in a longitudinal direction and supporting forward and rear (6, 7) pairs of arms. The arms carry the working tools and are linked to the chassis in an X arrangement such that each arm pivots around a vertical axis (12, 13). The position of the arms is controlled by a jack (22) operating on a slider (20), mobile in the longitudinal direction and attached to the arms, permanently, via elastic telescopic arms (24, 25) and temporarily by pull arms (26, 27).
