The LED (2) is included in the clear or translucent body (1) of the object, typically produced by injection or resin-molding. A cavity (5) in the surface of the object, below the LED, accommodates a close-fitting watch battery (6), acting as the energy source. One LED lead (4) is brought to a central position in the cavity, the other (3) to the edge, making the necessary electrical contacts. In variants, one or other, both of these simple direct contact arrangements are positively enhanced by substituting resilient tongues, soldered to the diode leads, which maintain continuous pressure on the battery contact surfaces.
