The pre-mounting device for a nut (1) used in conjunction with a screw (8) to fasten two components (3, 4) together comprises supports attached to the first component (3). A flexible strip (17) has a central hole which is fitted over the screw between the supports. The strip has sections at each end which are superimposed so that holes in them are aligned and they fit into a groove in the nut.
